Updates - ER

so i just finished watching the presidential debates and for some reason felt like updating my blog...sadly i haven't kept up as much as i would have liked. since my last post in august alot has been going on, mostly in the realm of pain. for some reason lately i have had a surge of doctor visits after being able to avoid but a few visits earlier this year for allergies. the first issue has been my neck pain, i have been going to the chiropractor for that for almost a year, but lately my symptoms have changed. my neck has been shooting feelings of falling asleep down my neck and then half way down both arms...let me tell you - that is weird! (and dont forget i have carpal tunnel already too). this includes sleepiness around my sholder blades too. so eventually and not to soon after these sympotums didn't go away i got an MRI. i must say i'm not really clausterphobic, but in that machine i pretty much convinced myself that i was!! after that experience i was a bit shakey for awhile. I actually then treated me to starbucks and some cookies as a treat for being brave. due to the lack of being able to get into a nuerologist, i picked up the report today and read the results, i'll post more on my neck problems later once i get a better grasp on what it all means.

now today i had an experience at the hospital. about a week ago i started having stomach pains, after a few days they went away, so i assumed stomach flu. well today i woke up with similar pains, but waay more painful. i was totally in the fetal position crying whenever the pain attacked my abdomen. so after about an hour or so i got a ride to take me to the hospital. They did a bunch of blood, a pee pee test, a few others, and i got an iv, and about 5/6 blankets (it was freeezing!!!) and then a CAT scan. so for the CAT scan i totally had to drink this HUGE drink of water with the contrast medicine in it - way gross bytheway way gross. well the medicine gave me the shakes, so i kept shivering for like 30/45 minutes like it was cold, it was not fun. so i did the scan and then everything came up NORMAL, expect for the fact i was in great pain. so they sent me home. now i'm feeling a bit better, the pain is not nearly as bad, i just have to be careful with what i eat and go back if it gets worse not better. so far the pain is not nearly as bad. the doctor did get a bit upset at me for not accepting the morphine for the pain - i'm HIGHLY HIGHLY sensitive to it - but due to the fact that i uncontrollably barf when on morphine (even with nausea medicine) i refused it, i did not want to deal with the barfing on top of the abdomen pain sorry! or stay in the hospital more time than necessary. to me it was much easier to deal with the pain by it self, than the pain and the morphine barf. he even prescribed a low dose narcotic (remember HIGHLY HIGHLY sensitive!!) so i haven't filled it. there is no way i'm am going to deal with the that on top of my abdomen pain, i'd rather ride it out. so yeah that was my adventure today.

sadly most of what i have to report for this post is a medical related topic. it makes me sad too sometimes. it is much harder to keep the house clean like i would like when my wrist are out (the carpal tunnel) and then my neck hurts, which has been causing my lower back more pain. to me these kinda of things are my greatest challenges lately. and with my new neck radiology report, seems like they will continue to be.

most of my time has then been concentrated on reading for my Civil War class that i'm taking on line through byu. right now i am reading a book on the life of Robert E Lee!! I love it!! what an inspiring man and interesting life this simple boy had!! i tell facts about it all the time! so far in this class this is my favorite book, and i have been marking it up and highlighting it like crazy! it is a very enjoyable read. it is mostly composed from his letters he wrote to his family, friends, and relatives. if anyone really enjoys history this is a great book, it is not entirely focused on the civil war either. anyways not sure if anyone reads these since i dont update regularly so i'm gonna stop for now.

Just a tip- it's harder for me to want to read a blog when someone puts a long post up. But hey, I read yours because it has been a long time since you updated! DOn't wait so long! At first my diagnosis is that you are pregnant and experencing pre-term labor. Guess not. Hope you get to feeling better!
